The Rare Books and Special Collections division of Boatwright Memorial Library preserves, protects, and provides access to the treasures of the library, including the oldest, most valuable, and unique materials in the library’s collections. Follow along on our blog as we explore the collections, highlight new acquisitions, and share information about what we have and what we do. Come discover something uncommon with us.
Visitors are always welcome in the Galvin Rare Book Room during our open hours. Appointments are not necessary for research. However, if you would like to meet with an archivist regarding a research project, potential donation, outreach request, or instructional session, please contact us to schedule an appointment. Whether the purpose of your visit is to research in our collection, take a tour, complete a class assignment, or just browse the shelves, we welcome the opportunity to work with you, answer your questions, and assist you with your research.
When classes are in session, our open hours are Monday – Thursday, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. During university breaks, summer, and all other times, we are open by appointment only.
